It is...I mean it honestly gave me a different view of the gay community, made me get rid of those homophobic ideas I had. And Spelman is comprised mainly of lesbians, and feminist. You'd really wanna go to Clark which is basically across the street too to find quality women.

But as far as the school, and I think this goes for HBCU's in general, you gotta really be on your shyt yourself, as opposed to relying on your counselors and such to be on top of it. Quite often I heard of people's stuff getting lost/misplaced. Them missing one or two classes and not being able to graduate, just a lot of horror stories.

On the flipside, I've heard stories of how people in non-hbcu's have their stuff handed to them. Their stuff is always on point, they know exactly what classes they need, and have left, and it's generally just a more organized experience. I honestly can't attest to the difference, but I know it's difficult to maneuver at an HBCU.

My boy went to one and hated it.
Transferred out last year. I never considered attending one.
Period.

Went to Morehouse as well. The boogieness is unbearable, but Clark Atlanta is nearby, and its nice. They get visitation around Labor Day- at Morehouse I had to wait until damn Halloween (Spelman also). I dont know if they still do it, but Tuesday through Sundays are club nights and the clubs hire buses that give free transportation. Usually free for students.

The traditions are many, and it is a better experience than going to a PWI (imo). You can even go to class too sometimes also (:mjcry:)

Naw but seriously, you need to be on point if you go to Morehouse. I lollygagged and fukked around and skipped class and did not prioritize my academics. There are so many social events and programs (school sponsored, and just in the city-at-large) that can make it hard to focus.

I wish I would have graduated from Morehouse, but I dream about going back and teaching there.

Im still a Morehouse Man dammit :mjcry:

Lesbians and feminist wtf lol... And yea my cousin who went to Howard told me that when she was there her counselors were garbage and they didn't really do a lot to help her, and that she had to do a lot by herself which is insane.

@ben anderson

FAMU Alum and some of the best years of my life. Being 18 around other young, energetic black kids like me was a once in a lifetime experience. Made friends for life. Met brothers from FL, Texas, Cali, Chicago, NY, DC. So many different types of attractive and smart black women...Carribbeans, Africans, AA, short tall light brown dark. The parties, homecoming aww man so many stories and it's good seeing my fellow black brothers and sisters mature from teenagers to adults which we all did.

Plus the most important thing I got my degree. Making 6 figures and I love my career. And the funny thing my major was 40% non black but it's funny you still have blacks that look at HBCUS as inferior but my schools program speaks for itself that even non blacks realized that.

I went high school with majority whites so going to an HBCU was amazing.

I could've gone to one but I didn't. A few of my homies go to Prairie View and they seem to love it here.
