Any dangerous areas in Boston to be avoided?

I might be in Boston for a few days during the second week of April.

I am from Queens so I'm not really concerned, but I'll probably be staying in a hostel to save money and, if my Vegas experience is any indication, sometimes hostels are in the worst areas of the city.

I'm not really that worried about being attacked while out in the street cuz I'm not usually distracted by my cell phone when I walk, but moreso I'd like to avoid a potential stray bullet going in through my window and other similar things that are mostly out of my control.

So, pretty much y'all saying there really isn't much to be concerned about. Is the Roxbury area still crazy like I had heard before? Is it comparable to the Bronx?

Most of Boston you should be straight, Roxbury included. I’ve got peoples in Mattapan but it’s the only place I wouldn’t recommend.

Idk what area this happened in but one of my older brothers got jumped in Boston like 7 years ago. They only were able to get his coat which wasn’t even name brand smh. I think he was staying at a hostel and went on a late night pizza/food run. And he ain’t a lil nikka either 6’3, 230+.

Been to Boston enough times. There’s some real more than any major city I can remember.
