basically all these latin languages have a common denominator! Italian, spanish, french, portughese and romanian all are based in the vulgar latin language!

True!

The one thing i love about english is that it simplifies a lot of things for you such as verb conjugations and femininity/masculinity of simple words. But especially how you conjugate verbs is dumb easy in English whereas French is extremely complicated in comparison.

But read my previous post where i described the SYNTAX of english had me all jacked up at first. I cant stress how fukked up I sounded my first (say) 5 years living in the U.S. because i had to speak slower in order to get it right. Now it comes natural, almost.

True that's a great point you made about syntax

Go for french. I honestly dont think its that difficult. but there is a learning curve because of the way the french speak. its almost like grunting and speaking at the same time. but I will say out of the three languages Im studying rn French is definitely the most fun.

What other languages are you studying? I remember someone once told me you should only learn one language at the time but don't know if there's any validity to that

How hard is it to learn as an English speaker? I really need to learn either french, Arabic or tamazight languages because when I'm in morocco I get finessed like crazy for being a foreigner. I think french would be easier to learn for someone who only speaks English.

How quick is it to pick up?
:dahell: Tu ne parle pas francais? Tu n'es pas Marocain?

All seriousness its tough and I'm on the journey of trying to become fluent as well ( need it for work) If you know close friends etc who speak French it can help. I try to read the news in French too.

Arabic is hell to learn. French as a romance language has SOME of the familiar structure, but its by far the most unique of them. If i were to learn one I'd say French.

As previously state verb conjugation is easy AF in English. But between French and Arabic...learn french.

Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. I suppose it depends on how you study and how quick you take to learning languages. I generally spend about 20 minutes a day on each one. For me, im a musician/guitarist (7 plus years now.) So I think being well aquinted with sounds and pitchs help me greatly in retaining what I learn especially with french and portugese.

Props:whoo:

Yeah they actually said it was worse with languages close to each other lol (as Spanish, French and Portuguese are) but I guess it depends on the discipline of the learner. I guess being a musician does indeed help, never thought about that :ehh:

Definitely not.

French is one of the most hardest languages to learn out of all the Romance languages :whoa:

Out of the 3 I need to learn I mean. I hear arabic is really hard and I'd have to go to Morocco to learn berber and even then a lot of the arabs in the country don't even speak it.

Out of the three French is the easiest one to me, but French is still hard as fukk to get down.

This is like asking who the weaker lyricist is out of Jay, Big, and Nas.
