I modeled for a little bit in HS and maybe twice after when I was in college. It aint shyt to get a comp card made or even a portfolio if you go to the art dept and catch a photography major and work with them. Their working on their own portfolio as well so they'll call you anytime they want a new setup. If they on their shyt you'll get a fashion designer doing the same thing as well as a makeup artist. All this is free by the way if you get the right people.
I got linked up with Getty and did some print. The thing is, with them you NEVER know what or when they'll use the images for. Just go to the set, take your shots, get your check. I only saw one photo I took and it was 2yrs later that was a 6ft PNC Bank Ad in NYC on a few bus stops. My homegirl sent me a picture of it.
They own the images and can sell them to any company that chooses it for years. I could pop up on a Viagra print campaign or worse, a herpes campaign or something
Thinking back after that PNC incident, I wouldn't have done the "portfolio shoot" for Getty but they are a huge company and paid good for the surprisingly brief day I went.
