I have been using nzbs (downloading from binary sites) I use a VPN + the sites downloads are encrypted. You just basically download a helper type file (nzb) and once you click on it it goes out on the internet site and gets it.
I have to pay for the access (newshosting site) but I set my download to 20 different instances and the shyt comes down quick.
I gave up on torrents a long time ago. They are always seeming to be stuck at 95% and I never got them.

Here is something easier in my opinion.

Sign up for real-debrid.
Use an app or a Kodi extension on the Fire TV that supports real-debrid.
Then you're good.

It basically accomplishes the same thing as a VPN but real-debrid gives you access to more streaming sources on the apps/extensions.
