have a pitbull but as far as breeds go any of the larger breeds (Mastiffs, rottweiler, cane corso etc) are ideal in your situation since there low energy anyways
:patrice:

Those big breeds though need an outlet...

A big reason those big rotts, pits be causing fukkery is because alot of em be inside or chained up all day, mind ain't getting stimulated.

Dogs WILL seek out carpets to do their business
They think they're being sneaky and figure a carpet will conceal this piss easier

shyt I didn't even know my dog was going downstairs in the morning and pissed on the area rug...it's a dark color rug and I only found out because the faint smell of piss.

She was trained to not pee in the house but that 2yr window I was gone some of her training went she used to hold her pee in longer....and dogs be on a routine...usually around 8am she'll get up and start sniffing around and pacing back and forth...if she isn't locked into a room she say fukk it and go down stairs and piss somewhere after awhile.

My dogs stays with my sister. I take care of him when she's at work and vice versa. You can always find a way to make it work.

I live by myself in a house so having my dog kinda feels a void for me and gives me a sense of security. He be on top of shyt before I’m even aware. Plus he’s a great ice breaker when i bring chicks over to the crib.

If I’m feeling lazy (which is most of the time lol). I get a walker or drop her off at a doggy day care so she has company. Sometimes I take her for walks before work which gives me a chance to jog.Either way be prepared to spend more money. Food and veterinary care all adds up.

Had my 2 pits since pups. They are house broken and I gottem on a schedule. They house dogs...I lettem run outside in the back for a lil and take the youngest running with me. It can be done, but it takes consistency.

"VACAVILLE (KRON) -- A dog died on Tuesday afternoon after being left in a hot car in Vacaville, according to police.

Officers were called to the area of the outlets at around 5 p.m. Authorities found a French bulldog in the hot car for an "extended period of time."

The owner, who was shopping at the time, told police she parked the car in the shade and left the windows partially down.

Temperatures inside the car could have been over 120 degrees, police said.

"Parking near a tree and cracking a window is simply not enough," police said on Facebook.

The owner was arrested and charged with animal cruelty."
Does is get cold in the Bay? Does it get hot in the Bay?

"Tropical' to cold as new storm hits Bay Area

A weather pattern flip of sorts is underway, as a cold front from the Gulf of Alaska moves into Northern California on the heels of the wet, warm tropical storm(a.k.a. an atmospheric river) that drenched the Bay Area for 48 hours. Temperatures are expected to drop swiftly, putting hail, thunderstorms and low-elevation snow into the forecast. Rainfall totals and humidity levels will be much lower with this system compared to the atmospheric river event. The frigid system is pumping cold air into the region and temperatures in the atmosphere overhead are much cooler than those at the surface. This can lead to convection and thunderstorms. "

Dog Dies While in Care of Pet Sitter Found With App

"Dog Dies While in Care of Pet Sitter Found With App

An Oakland couple is devastated after dropping off their pet dog at a sitter they found using an app and then discovering the dog died less than 12 hours later.

Emily and Christian Pelipada used an app called DogVacay to find a dog sitter for 6-year-old Pippen while they took a trip to Chicago to visit family. Hours after dropping off the dog on Aug. 10, they received a call from the sitter, telling them Pippen had died along with another dog after both were left in a hot car outside a dog park."

Okay, so you googled the current weather, and dogs dying in cars from stupid owners.

You still dont live here.

Respect the good & understand the bad
Leaving a dog in the car is ok in reasonable temperatures as long the conditions permit it. Me, Dora and Felonious all stay in the east bay where temps damn near always fall between 60-80 degrees. Those examples are from vacaville which is a valley where the temperatures get much more extreme, relative to our location at least. I personally don't do it for more than 20-30 minutes, but as long as they're comfortable I wouldn't worry about it for a longer period of time if I were in a pinch. I wouldn't make a habit of it though, just if I were coming back from a walk and had to run a quick errand or something.

I have a dog and work typical 9-6 hours. I didn’t crate train my dog, but I would recommend crate training yours because it will become much easier to potty train.

I wake up about 8 am and the first thing I do is walk my dog. Let her poop and pee and come back inside and get ready for work. Right before I leave for work, I take her out again because I noticed my dog doesnt always get everything out on the first walk. The second walk might come 40 mins after the first one, but my dog almost always goes to the bathroom the second time around.

Then around 2pm or 3pm I’ll drive back home during lunch break so I can let her out again to go to the bathroom. I have a Staffordshire terrier with very high metabolism. This bytch can easily shyt 4 or 5 times a day.

If you live near where you work, coming back home for lunch to let the dog out shouldn’t be difficult. With that said, I have also used doggy day care services. Paid $600 for 24 day care days, so if I feel like I won’t be back home for more than 7 or 8 hours, I’ll put her in dog day care those days.

Crate training your pup will pretty much guarantee that they won’t have bathroom accidents while your gone. I don’t crate train because I feel bad leaving my dog in a cage for 10 hours a day. So i just make the sacrifice by driving home during lunch to let her out. It’s exhausting driving back and forth everyday, but it only costs me gas, as opposed to putting her day care or having a dog walker come by a few times a week, which adds up very fast in terms of cost.

Edit: if you don’t want to crate train but have a small yard, you could always install a dog door that leads to the yard so they can go the bathroom. I live in an apt loft so no yard, so I have to physically take her out every time.
