From what I've noticed this seems common with lucumi

One of the reasons I stepped back from it was other people's reasons for doing it. I got into it for spiritual reasons and never asked for anything - except to be part of it. I got tired of helping with ebo and rituals for people who showed up just to beat a case, get some money, get a record deal. Type of folks would be in the club with elekes on (seen supposed babalawos do it) and all types of fukkery. And it's not the kind of thing you can practice alone.

Truthfully i cant stand ig

But

I seen a chick I use to follow on ig this type of time in the club with the milkers out and elekes and whats crazier is i see iyanifas get under her comments and basically enable the stuff. Its super cringy. I dont even dialogue with her but its just something off and dont even get on the topic of trying to correct them or say "i don't think this/that is right" ,

I think what you all said is very encouraging. I, naively, thought this just was what it was. Now having gotten into the game with what you all see and what I have seen i think the time is ripe for a subtle reformation/transformation to occur.

There are a lot of "spiritual gangsters" and there are a demographic that is suited for them. I also think it's important for you @Whore D'oeuvres to continue in whatever way you can because there are more of us out here looking for real and powerful change. Pardon me if i am overstepping my bounds.

I also see types that from my perspective are really trying to build churches instead of using this spiritual technology. Tough economic times we are in.

Please stay encouraged. As a very very young awo, is definitely be willing to listen and learn from you.

If they got their warriors and have a babalawo or babalorisha I figure (or hope, rather) that they would have gotten some sort of counseling on what's appropriate and inappropriate for them and IF NOT then there's gonna be way more of them in that same ile who are enabling the bullshyt and me saying something wont mean anything. Then most of the bw (not all) involved are the "witchy" variety of goofy that think if you tell them they're fukkin up you're just a negative spirit and they shouldn't be around you
