Fixed. I hear a lot of people about Yoruba I’m not familiar with the terms. Only with Santeria.
Yoruba is a Nigerian ethnic group and a culture. It’s not a religion.
You didn’t mean Yoruba. You meant Ifa.
There is a huge thread on here about persons living in disaffected communities in Atlanta that practice Ifa.

I have stories from my fam tho. I’ll post them later I’m on my phone they mad long.
But from my experiences people who put shyt on people get fukked over in life. My mom only practices it for protection.

I used to be fascinated with the occult but my experiences led me beyond it. After what I've experienced, My own spirituality will not allow me to accept anything less than a convocation of the ultimate divine b/c that's the source of all power.
Christ (there are others) is the high access point due to the fact that instead of requiring the sacrifice of others or one of blood, he made the sacrifice of himself to give us a path to eternal divinity. As a rule, whatever path you choose, the spiritual entity should take on most of the sacrifice themselves. No priest will tell u this b/c most are trapped at a level of worship and do not understand the power of our divine souls and our human divinity. Most have no true understanding of God nor do they go far enough to seek the divine. If we truly understood our power, we would not call upon the spirit world...when u grow in ur understanding of urself---it will call upon you. There are some souls so pure that they minister to these spirits.
These entities are vying for ur soul for a reason. It's so strange that we only understand the value of ourselves and our soul as something to barter with spiritually. You ever stop to wonder what is so valuable about it and if it's that powerful why do you need the favor of another.
I know that sounds crazy but the shyt I've learned...they only give the very tip of the iceberg of our destiny. They give Christians cryptic hints but obscure our true power in fear and supplication. But God said "be ye perfect even as ur father in Heaven is perfect."
Fun fact, but did u know that some of the older grimoires are actually in private libraries of Christian preachers and priests?
Humans are so powerful that entire kingdoms and spiritual courts vye for them. Some angels resent us. Ultimately we are God made flesh. But the illusion of distance gave us one hell of a case of amensia. I used to think religion was against magic b/c God was jealous and all the bullshyt. That was before speaking to God and other entities and learning, pursuit of the occult isn't evil or horrible. It's discouraged not b/c it's a bad thing (don't get me wrong--shyt can go sideways quick) but b/c it's lazy and insulting to our legacy. God says if you learn what u truly are, it would be the gravest insult for the foot to ask the ant for favor.
Cliffs: We call on lesser entities b/c we too shook of what we actually are and perhaps the responsibility that comes with it.

Yep. All esoteric aspects of great religious traditions focus primarily on union and identification with the divine.
Outside worship is necessary initially b/c it's an elementary acknowledgement of the power of the divine and b/c it gives credit where it is due. Spiritual baby steps. But we are supposed to grow beyond that.
It's part of the process. But we are never supposed to merely stop there. Yet majority of the world lives its life in the nascent stages of recognizing their true power. There are consequences to missing the mark. It feeds forces which don't wish us to succeed.

For some it takes lifetimes (reincarnation). Others stubbornly fight it in disbelief for an eternity (hell).
The greatest trick played on us is the illusion of separation. Also be aware that the entities you call upon were once like u as well. They don't realize it b/c it's been eons since they were as we are and telling them will result in some unpleasant backlash in some cases. That's why we are so attractive. They see glimpses of what they once were. Now their goal is to get u to join their ranks b/c misery loves company, but also b/c ur elevation convicts them and proves that there is another way. They will hate u for that. A lot of the powers you call up are actually tired. Bone and soul deep weary. Some are hungry and angry. Some are sad and in despair. Others are literally amazing. They feed off seeing how far you can go in this life. Your happiness nourishes them.
Lol! I used to be interested all kinds of shyt b4 I devoted myself to the divine. Pure being without age or name.
But instinctively it wasn't fear that made me stop. It was gaining an understanding that the entities people want to summon answer to a higher power. The only power they have is what we feed them. I also didn't like the idea of becoming like some of them. They use to BE exactly like us. But got caught up. They are actually going to find their divinity as well but they are procrastinating the process even further than we are. Lol! That's all hell is. It's what we put between the eternal divine and ourselves. It's that distance. We also play a role in their continued presence in that space b/c we give them energy which isn't a good thing.

I actually tried doing a deep dive into self (some form of meditation/focus), and I dunno. I saw something that freaked me out. It didn't see me. But I tried getting out, and couldn't for some time.
Someone woke me up, apparently they thought I was sleeping when I was really trying to focus intently on self.
A few nights later I began having dreams that were very intense, and very horrifying. At least to me they were. I never tried to do it again.
Some time later (2 yrs) I would try to write questions on a blank canvas and meditate. Once I started writing shyt I wouldn't even think about, I stopped.
After that bout, I had another dream. The dream ended with someone saying "you aren't ready" and throwing me out of the dream. It was all weird.
The dreams eventually stopped. But now I am beginning to see things out the corner of my eye. For instance, I was cooking a few days ago and I thought I saw a huge man in my peripheral just standing there. It was just the wall when I quickly turned to focus on it. I felt another prescence like I would if an actual person was there, but it was nothing.
I don't know because I am not well versed in this type of stuff.
