Ticker symbols UFPI (UFP Industries Inc.), BCC (Boise Cascade Co), and WY (Weyerhaeuser Co.) are domestic companies that might be used to rebuild from the SoCal wildfires

WFG (West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd.) is in Canada, so if trump imposes those tariffs, i'm not as invested in this one.

Trump said he'd impose these tariffs "as soon as" feb. 1, so but who knows with his lying ass. I'm still trying to get a leg up on which dip to buy regardless.

Just what I've seen on youtube, I expect builders to be cutting back. They can't move inventory, shyt is too expensive for the average person. And there's unofficially too much inventory already

We have no choice due to earthquakes

:francis:

You learn something everyday..I always thought because America is covered in fig, spruce and cedar..and that wood was used because it was plentiful and cheap.

Yea but op is right about rebuilding la, the orders will be immense. I see these lumber companies as simply shares buys until we see if Cali gets that fed money. I would prefer options but I have a feeling it’s going to be many months until we see movement.

They can't just rebuild for rebuilding sake..they have to literally change the traditional design and layout of streets, homes, wooded areas etc to greatly reduce fire hazards.

So once that fed money is dispersed to the state, the governor allocates to the money to the appropriate resources/companies to rebuild?
