i'd get random panic atacks in school about a year ago
i'd be doing some homework in the library withy some friends and then i'd feel like im about to die. makes it even worse when you have to try to look like you ain't freaking out
idk how id describe it. just felt like i couldnt feel antyhing. except my heart pounding harder and harder. couldnt breathe
it happened once during a test...my god that was so bad
Everything you said describes my experiences to a t. You try to keep calm so you don't freak people out. But it LITERALLY feels like you're gonna die. And I asthma, so it REALLY feels like you're having an astmah attack, when in reality it's an anxiety attack. And the asthma inhaler speeds up your heart rate. So I'd take a puff of the inhaler, and it'd make the attack worse.

Hey I don't usually pop in TLR, but I had to post in this joint.

About 2 years ago, I went thru about 2 months of having panic attacks. It started with me going to the Dr.s for some chest pain. Anyways on the first visit the DR had an EkG done and that shyt showed I had a heart attack :damn:. So he ordered a stress test, and some other joint where they injected me with a dye, to make sure everything was alright.

I'm a young in shape dude, so that shyt had me :merchant:. Eventually everything came out clear, I didn't have a heart attack. My EkG was just abnormal, likely due to stress, and the pain was due to me tearing some cartlidge between my ribs. But that whole ordeal had me :mjcry:

For about 2 months I just couldn't calm down for shyt. I was having a panic attack weekly. One of the worst feelings in the world. Eventually I started doing some breathing exercises and looked up tips to help with the attacks. It really helped. I haven't had one in a minute. But I do still feel that shyt in the back of my mind every once in a while. It's like when you have one, you'll always be more susceptible to more.

But, yeah if any bruhs are struggling with it and want a couple tips let me know. I'm happy to try to help
That's ROUGH. I've had an EKG test done on me. I would just sit at home for months on end, with a cup of tea in one hand, and a bottle of xanax in the other. I had to ween myself off of xanax because the panic attacks made me so dependent on them. I had an hour long attack at one point when I was weening myself off. Jesus!!!

I usually have mini ones that last a few moments but the last serious one was a few months ago while I was in the mall.

I started hyperventilating and crying in the bathroom stall. Thought I was about to pass out.

I had to call a friend to calm me down.
I've had to have my brother rub my back to calm me down. I've never felt so vulnerable as an adult male in my entire life.

Around sometime 2008 I was having around 10 -15 panic attacks a day and became a complete shut in. I had went to the emergency room too many times to count. had a shyt load of blood work done, EKG's, had a head x ray, was given antibiotics etc.. And since I didn't have insurance there was only so much they could do. Eventually I was put on Propranolol and Celexa, it took weeks for that shyt to kick in and it was a struggle and it finally helped keep them under control. I wouldn't wish that entire episode on my worst enemies.

They put me on Efexor to ween me off of Xanax. The 1st time I took the Efexor? Boooooooy, all sorts of thoughts and worries ran through my head. I wasn't suicidal, but for whatever reason I had these weird urges to jump out of the moving car my bro was driving. I didn't do it, but for whatever reason the act of doing wouldn't leave my mind. This all happened late 2014.

Yeah, Xanax was actually the first med they put me on, but I only got 10 because I didn't have a primary care doctor. So right after I finished those 10 I was right back to having panic attacks. I'm not lying this went on for months, until I was prescribed the celexa and buspar. I didn't consider suicide, but I really thought I was going crazy or someone put a curse on me or some shyt.
I actually am glad I didn't get prescribed anything like Xanax or Klonopin. Those shyts are habit forming and the dosage has to go up pretty frequently less they stop being effective.

Lucky. I'm starting to get to the point where they're happening less. But I still have em every now and then. How do you deal with them?

Controlled breathing and thinking positive. I don't think mine were very bad. They only lasted a couple of minutes and rarely happened.
