I'm not the only black person at my job by a long shot, but it is majority white.

That said, one thing I've noticed since I've started working is that people always seem to remember my name and I rarely remember theirs unless I work with them daily. Like I'll be walking through the hall or in the parking lot and random people will be like "Hey acri1 how's it going?" and I have no idea who they are other than them looking vaguely familiar so I'm like "....hey how's it going ".



Anybody else have this issue? I'm not sure if it's more related to me being a minority or if I just have a bad memory, or maybe if it's an introvert thing, but I've noticed this pretty consistently at various places I've worked. I'm trying to get better at remembering names but I haven't had too much luck so far.

This is how its been at my latest job.. Been there for a year and still can't remember a large majority of folks outside of who I directly work with. I'm introveted, with bad memory so it's probably a combo of both. I find something to relate their name to and read through the company directory from time to time to remember names

I know the name of like 20% of people from my sector, I just dgaf lol
