I don’t think it’s a requirement at all. I just think the idea is that it’s common sense to acknowledge the truth of such an entities power.I appreciate anybody contributing to the thread so yeah it counts. I'm not looking to debate just want to hear about other folk's experiences on here.
Someone can fact-check me on this but I think the earliest human societies who practiced any form of faith were polytheistic and I think over time various cultures and groups shifted into a belief in One god. But I'm not sure.
The bolded is interesting to me . Why do(es) God(s) require worship?

Are we required to worship numerical reality or do we acknowledge that 1+1=2 because it does.
The idea behind worship isn’t that it’s a requirement for God. An alleged all-powerful being doesn’t stop being all-powerful simply because we forget about its all-powerfullness. The idea is that worship is simply acknowledgement of an entities’ truth. And if such an entity is all that we think it is, then much like we tell the truth about 1 object being put together with another object equaling two objects, it’s simply fact that God is everything his/her/it’s worshipers are claim God to be. Allegedly. Lol Because we could just be making up shyt.![]()
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
