Sys admin is above a network admin. You pretty much are able to architect and maintain networks.

No he said if it was acually simple anyone could walk in and do it for six figures
Keep in mind this man comes from a culture where they've been whipped into hitting the books at a very young age. Learning comes a lot easier as that's all they've been doing.

If you don't carry the same level dedication to study then it'll be more challenging for you. You have to cut out the distractions and really focus, but you'll get there.

For accepted in an apprenticeship,n brush its confusing as hell, any tips or books
Have an indian teacher,heavy accent.
Told him I'm confused,he stated if it was easy everybody could do it

Learn the basics well.

Learn Windows operating systems along with networking (i.e. routing, switching, IPv4, IPv6, mac tables, routing tables, NAT, et al).
Learn certain services i.e. DNS, DHCP, web, IIS, et al.
Learn Active Directory.
Learn Linux/UNIX if you need it.
Basics of firewalls would do you well.

Cloud is a fairly big thing. Learning some cloud concepts wouldn't hurt. A bit of SaaS (Software as a Service).

The other stuff will come as you deal with it i.e. applications, security, Citrix, and more.

If you are really into this, you want to setup a hypervisor to build VMs and containers.
I recommend VMware for the hypervisor.

Took 12 month class. Sys admin was more fun, working with windows and all the other softwares were more my thing. Hated the whole creating a network, assigning IP's, network configuration

Are you talking about network systems or specific BI/ERP systems?

I'm in logistics and potentially trying to parlay it into a WMS/ERP admin.

The better you know the OS with is roles; features; services; and configs, the easier your job will be.

I'm not saying you have to be a CCIE with regard to networking, but you do want to have a good solid understanding of networking, ports, et al.

I can't believe I forgot learning about hypervisors an containerization as well ....
