Prices have definitely dropped, I bought my 55" Samsung Smart Tv just over a year ago at $1,200. Now the 4K prices for the same size have come down to that.

I have a friend in the a/v business, he told me 8K was already overseas and headed to the states..........5K monitors are already being available.

Bought a 4K Sony TV 65 inch to replace my current 5 year old 55inch samsung thats been fukking up.

Looks pretty good in the store. That 4K is impressive, although i already know outside of netflix and the overpriced Sony media box, aint shyt out there that can support it. The smart apps on these Sony TVs are pretty impressive though. You can watch netflix, hulu, and even stream playstation 3 games on these joints! My current 55 inch its replacing already has a bunch of dead pixels though. That TV and this new TV cost about the same, yet this new joint is superior in everyway.

The 65inch was 2500, but the 55 inch is only 1300! :damn: Thats cheap as hell! I almost went with the 55inch so i could save that extra 1200, but shyt! I wanted the 65inch. :manny:

If you have a high end 1080P set, you will be fine for a while.

Most of you cats are console gamers and watch over the air TV, none of that will see 4K content with any regularity until about 2016 at the earliest.

I picked up a 55 inch of that same TV last month during the week of Black Friday. It's a great TV breh I think you'll really like the picture quality. If you subscribe to neftlix you can upgrade your account to stream 4K and it looks pretty damn impressive.
