No. My brother in law stopped doing gov't work, but he's still paid to do busy work though. He works for a contractor.
I have friends who are gov't employees with non-essential jobs. They are on furlough. Furlough is not good though for them money wise. It's a free unpaid vacation though.

7 days till we default :whew:

i dont thnk you realize the consequences of this happening.. it will literally be the end. over 150mil people depend on govt benefits.. those will all be cut after the 17th.

food stamps
social security
welfare

^^ and EVERY other form of govt benefits.

when people get hungry they will do ANYTHING to survive :demonic:

GOP is making a short term debt ceiling proposal and democrats are content with that. so im sure that crisis will be averted, but theyre still not reopening the gov't til they negotiate the long term issues. fml

Not directly. I've noticed a couple of government sites I wanted to get info from were closed and I'm like WTF is up with that.

They should keep the national parks closed a little longer once the shutdown is over. I mean, pay the park employees for time lost just like everyone else, but just keep the parks closed for an extra month to spite all the nature loving tree huggers.

Nothing too serious, I was supposed to visit a couple museums for class projects but I can't since they are closed.

I've had some clients call double checking on their payments, but that's about it.
