Breh, you're getting scammed. :mjtf:

This ain't happening to the rest of us and I have all of those streaming services. Them nxggas don't send texts.

that’s not the point of the thread…how am I getting scammed when I know/acknowledge the texts are fake in the title?

YOU may not be getting these fake texts but I don’t think you can speak for everyone…so I made the thread to find out if anyone else is getting hit up with these fake texts and if so, I can try and find out how to stop or at least limit these texts…my main thing is it’s getting annoying getting these texts almost everyday

And being phished. Somebody has information if yours they shouldn't have. Presumably a leaked email that you used to sign up somewhere and also used somewhere else with a phone number.

Change all passwords, turn on 2FA through an authenticator and log out of all devices, generate a random complicated email and sign back in.

I'm not even surprised when I check the number of attempts on certain sites. It's something bound to happen nowadays.

Some site leaked your info.

They're attempting to phish you.

If you use the same email across sites then nikkas will brute force shyt until they get a hit. There's only a handful of streaming services.

My dumbass got my Spotify hacked bc I used some random ass 3rd party app that removed ads and makes it seem like you paid for it

Until I turned on Spotify ar 1/2am and was fighting some random eurocac for the digital aux cord

Texts? Nah. phone calls? Yes.

The other day I got a call from a post office and some automated chinese voice was tryna tell me if I don't pick the package up soon I owe 500$

Lol

Ok

ya I get a few fake “comcast” voicemails even tho I don’t even use their service…but those are rare…I’m getting hit with these texts way too much…I imagine something I signed up for or some service I’m already using probably sold ppl’s info including phone numbers

I’m not worried about it from that standpoint even tho you’re right in general but I’m already secure on that front…the nuisance of it is my main issue

You sure, though? Would still recommend changing passwords across any commonly used sites.

But nah, it's definitely annoying as fukk. I've been blessed since T-Mobile introduced that scam shield or whatever. Immediately tries to the tie the number to a business and if not, it comes up as spam likely and gives you the option to screen or outright block them

If it's like me, data leaked or got stolen on some random ass site (looking at DatPiff) and they go from there.

I didn't even know my Spotify was being hacked until my high ass googled my email and found a pastebin with mine and 500 other accounts and passwords.

I immediately snitched to Spotify lmaooooo

Whatever you do, just don't answer and give them confirmation that the line is working. Don't open spam emails. Just report as spam and delete.

for any important site that I use/have to login to, it’s gonna take more than just having my password to access it…I don’t even have sites send passcode texts to my phone number…cuz I’ve seen ppl get hacked that way too…I’ve seen a lot of crypto horror stories and learned from them…any site I login to that has information that I’d like to protect requires 2-3 methods before I can actually get in

Make sure your number is on the Do Not Call registry (it won't stop the texts, but it's helpful in the long run for imposing penalties), and report the numbers to the FTC. Both can be done on the FTC website.
I was getting a lot of spam texts over the summer, now I don't get any.

thanks I’ll try this…I did something a while back to limit/stop junk mail and it was very effective…so hopefully this works too…I know it won’t stop it entirely but even if I can limit the texts then that’s a win for me
