Anybody else think wired controllers(PS2/Xbox) had better control than the wireless ones?

Wired controllers were just more responsive, IMO.

If you still have your ps2, fire it up someday and see what I'm talking about. It's just a tightness that felt like you had a SLIGHT bit more control. Especially with sports games.

I remember going from FIFA '06 on PS2 to playing FIFA on PS3 and you can tell the difference in the controller responsiveness, even tho it's very minute. You mentally adjust to the timing after a while to not notice it much at all, but if you go back and play the PS2 you'll notice it.

If there is a lag issue it's negligible, it's not like we're on the PC playing shooters or RTS games.

I preferred my wired controller on my old 360 compared to the wireless ones, mainly because it didn't have that big ass battery pack on it. But yeah wireless is easier but I preferred the wired ones :yeshrug:

a wired controller should have slightly less 'input lag'. most competitive players prefer wired controllers

yup...i've only used a wired controller when playing Halo or any online multiplayer game.

Your hdtv is whats causing the lag not your controllers

that's another issue and it's why I prefer to play competitive shyt on my monitor

Protip: if you want to cut input lag deeper than the "game mode" setting:

Plug your HDMI into the TV port labeled something with "HDMI IN (DVI)"

On TV, go into the menu and go to input/source label (may be different depending on your TV. My Samsung says Source Name or something like that. Don't feel like looking at 1:30 in the morning)

label HDMI/DVI as PC or PC DVI. You should see your screen picture drastically change and be good to go. What this does is make the TV think it is a PC Monitor connected to a PC. Hence why only basic picture settings can be changed and everything else picture related is disabled/off under this setting

Killer Instinct/BF4/Titanfall are like night and day with this settings change. Esp KI

All TVs are not equal when it comes to input lag. Check http://www.displaylag.com and see where your TV ranks in their database.

I looked there when I was in the market for a new TV for the PS4/X1 launches and I bought one of the HDTVs that ranked Excellent and everything is :blessed:

blutooth lag is probably not even noticeable since it does not account for one full frame of animation. as king sun pointed out, your tv is probably your only noticeable source of lag in a single player game

you need at least 16ms to get a frame of noticed lag. a lot of people's tvs are adding about 3 frames of lag. your bluetooth controller is adding 8ms at the most, so it is a half a frame of lag under the worst home conditions.

there is a caveat. if you are at a gaming tournament where there are tons of people using wireless devices of all kinds including phones, jawbone earpieces, and whatnot, you want to use a wired controller under those conditions because of all the interference on the bluetooth bandwidth spectrum

Good post here. Best scenarios for wireless llatency can fall well below a standard refresh rate time of 16ms making the wired connection that much less important.

The only issue is interference mitigation and bandwith, which both consoles already automatically channel hop and bandwidth is a non issue in newer Bluetooth revisions.
