Following ether (which i agree burned jay's soul),Jay dropped and an album doing the following things:
He promoted it with a great commercial in which he was talking to biggie in his dreams
Had a nice range of features.
A song featuring and declaring Beyonce as his girl over a remake of a classic 2pac song
Made a double album to ensure his album would have nice looking numbers despite the potential etherous effects. Brilliant plan and timing of his choices. HE WILL NOT LOSE.

I think Ja could've survived if he kept dropping hits. Everybody was like when Ether came out but nobody truly stopped fukking with Jay because he kept dropping hits. If Jay had dropped a concept album that went in the total opposite direction with no mainstream hits it might have been different. If Ross can survive not only being outed as a corrections officer but vehemently denying it or Wayne can survive kissing Baby on the mouth I highly doubt there is anything anyone could have said about Jay-Z that would have ended him.
