There was a big thread earlier this year, debating whether it was embarrassing (on a deeper level then just a horrible comedy) or not...I think integrity is lacking in a lot of these guys, because that it is a shamelessly stereotypical, and embarrassing movie to star in....When you look at how white Hollywood is, and who comes up with these concepts, it's pretty easy to understand, theres not much going on besides exploitation, consciously or not. Mike Epps may not feel he is being exploited, but in the bigger picture he is....George Lopez is another who is pretty shameless in his trafficking in stereotypes and forms of self hatred.....There is something very cheap, cynical, and offensive about that kind of comedy. Humor can be found in race and streotypes, sure, but a lot of the time the thinking behind the stereotypes and laughter is a re enforcement of these negative stereotypes and a justification for their existence and use by others....
