I can see both sides of it.

Thing is, pimps exist because there is an underground market they can exploit. No ID checks needed, no health screening, no guaranteed safety. Regulation would put most pimps out of business. Why pick up some chick who is likely on drugs and being exploited, when you could go to an establishment where you avoid shady pimps and trafficked women?

Once alcohol was made legal again, speakeasies went away and were replaced with regular bars.

The honest answer is because a few institutions would die off. If guys could just go pay for what it is they want without a threat of pregnancy or being legally disciplined would many men be seeking relationships with women? What businesses benefit from men seeking validation/attraction/affection from women? They would all be greatly diminished.
