Anybody ever bought a car online? (Craigslist, etc, s**t like that) I got questions

so im trying to get myself a car. Nothing fancy or whatnot just something that'll get a nikka from point A to point B.

So i've been looking on craigslist and other shyt like that and checking out deals and what not. I've already come across a Lincoln Town Car, a Cadillac DeVille and an Oldsmobile 88 that all got me like and all 3 are within my budget.

But I just wanna get some advice on this shyt beforehand so I know what im getting myself into cause im not trying to get fukked.......cause I will kill somebody over selling me a fukked up car

My job requires me to drive all around the metro plex. do u think its wise to get a car off craigslist, knowing ima have to drive around for 3-4 hours a day? Maybe even 5?(not everyday)

The only thing you have to do is go look at the car test drive, if you like it still as to take it to a mechanic to get a diagnostic inspection done, if it checks out or the mechanic says aint too much wrong with it, cop it. Or use what's wrong with it as a bargaining tool, like yo the head gaskets fukked up, but I'll replace it just take 300 off the price

i hope you know a good mechanic to bring with you. unless you getting back more than a couple thousand dollars whatever car you get is probably not gonna be that good and have problems with it.

if you plan on buying the car without a mechanic prepare to get screwed. if you gotta pay somebody to go out there with you so be it. also you should probably get a car fax on it. you need money to register the car in your name, get the plates, and insure it as well and depending on how old the car is and what state you live in you might have to pay a use tax on the price you pay for the car.

I saw a lincoln town car on craiglist that was like 1700 with 150k miles on it, but it ran good and everyhting just had a fucced up paint job.

i'll cop it, it should last me for atleast 4 years until i can get a better one

Well im moving back to San Antonio, so I aint really trippin off the drive. I really dont go nowhere except work and random excursions for bullshyt. I was using Craiglist because I figured I could find more options within my budget

co-sign on the mechanic..I would also check out the blue book value of the car; might able to reduce the price further...i'd also check out sites like autotrader, kbb, cars.com etc etc..too many free online resources to not get a good deal out there brehs

My Cousin bought a car off craiglist.Just make sure you bring someone who knows car to make sure aint nothing worng with it. Be safe to because some ppl use that shyt as a scam

Dont make the same mistake I did, I bought my ride from CL a few months ago
Everything seemed fined so I handed over the cash and called it a day.
A week later Im trynna start the engine and the alternator suddenly wanna die on me

Be careful with this train of thought...Cadillac Northstar head gasket is about 3500-4000 to repair...

I dont know tbh, but the car did have a little trouble starting in the beginning so that probably would have been a huge red flag if the mechanic were there but I didnt think much of it so I bought it anyway. I talked the dude down like $300 anyway so I still came up in the end
