I have a court date tomorrow morning at 930 In Northern VA. Fairfax County . I work nightshift, no way Im getting up and sitting in traffic to make it. I just tried to pay online, but it's too late. What are the consquences of missing a court date? It's for tinted taillights.

i missed a court date for driving w/o insurance and it went like this

Clerk: Mr. ____ You know you were supposed to been in court last month?

Me: I thought that was the deadline on paying the court costs that i owed

Clerk: No Sir im afraid we can't accept your payment at this time, due to a warrant being issued in your name

Me: You think the judge will let me pay and go home, i just wanna go home ma'am, my kids need me (don't even have kids)

Clerk: Go talk to the judge and see what she says

Me: Your honor i was confused and wasn't aware that my court date was set for last month, mistakenly believing this is the day i was supposed to appear

The Judge: Mr. ____ Are you able yo pay what you owe today in full including court costs and do you have proof of insurance?

Me: Yes your honor

Judge: Ok go talk to the clerk and have a nice day
