Anybody ever think of doing Teach for America?

ive been lucky , never had a problem getting jobs with my degree yet , and the times Ive had to switch has been because of funding cause, am in my almost dream job now , am a government social worker, i deal with medical benefits and the such. Eventually want to move up to policy.

thats dope, thats my biggest fear when I graduate thats why I want to do this or graduate school. good luck to you with everything

Honestly i would recommend volunteering (its paid) for americorps ,http://www.nationalservice.gov/programs/americorps
its what i did ( one of the 3 internships i did) , its still a commitment but not as much of one as TFA and its not as over whelming and you still walk away with a good amount of experience under your belt , fair warning though the money you get is just a small stipdend not a full salary as TFA gives ppl

I heard mixed reviews from friends like some places being lazy and not really treating it like a job. I was always interested. What field did you volunteer in?

I'm actually gonna start school to become a college professor

I always thought it was better to do something professionally and then later on teach it. You can then teach more from real world experience then passing on and watering down book lessons.
