I cant figure out detroit, i respect a lot of artists that come out of there but their music scene is hard to pin down. They dont really have a "sound" per se...it seems like they're so heavily influenced by other regions and have such a diverse mixture of artists that its hard to define what they represent. I guess its just a byproduct of being a midwest city...They got super lyrical dudes like eminem, elzhi, royce, guilty simpson, black milk, etc ....street rappers like doughboys cashout, dex osama, etc...they got weirdo/corny shyt like ICP/King Gordy/ Danny Brown (even tho he can rap)...and commercial artists like Big Sean/Dej Loaf ....Its almost hard to believe with the black population being what it is in detroit that their hip hop scene hasn't blown up on a larger scale but i think its due to the fact that they're still struggling to find their identity. Detroit posters, let me know what ur opinion on this cuz im speaking as an outsider and cant really see it from the inside....no hate btw i got family in detroit

You are right. My personal opinion is that we are the most versatile city in America as far as music goes. However, the generic style that doughboys angle Team East has is HEAVILY followed, and not 1 rapper doing that shyt has ever went anywhere.

No hate on them cause I know a lot of them nikkas personally, but it is what it is. I love and respect the versatility more than anything. We have top level song writers of every style and that deserves props. That's why I love how my nikka Dobbs is blending them all. That nikka can do everything on the mic. I love that shyt.

Yeah it seems to me like the doughboy cashout guys are the most "accessible" of the bunch but none of their records really move me...at the end of the day, they're kinda following whats "hot" right now n not doing anything new...i gravitate towards the guys like Dobbs out there who can really rap...theres a lot of spitters out there which i respect

This type of shyt makes nikkas like Future look pedestrian as fukk :whew:. Ain't too many real MC's who can use their style and still rip shyt
