If you got a wireless AC Router, then yes.

Pretty good in place of wired

Now we are getting somewhere.

I believe mine is just an N Dual Band Router. THe AC joints are all usually expensive from what I can tell.

Yeah, I do as well. I'm not having any issues like that, I'm just trying to see how I can pull better speeds over my wifi because I know it can be done.

we just cut cable at my house and my linksys G router is garbation. I should go with this asus n66u for sure ? ~100 was about what I was wanting to pay. anything else I should look at before pulling the trigger?

Look for the refurbished variant of n66u, called n66r if you want something cheaper.

I get 90Mbps over my wired connection, but only getting 20 over wireless.

do you live in an apartment complex ? if so get the wifi analyzer app and you can see which channels all your neighbors wifi are being broadcasted on and change yours to one that isnt being used.

i'd recommend this....its really the cheapest...less messy alternative...basically running your internet through your electrical system in your home.
the one i got for 30 and change isnt sold anymore
