Anybody gonna peep that Evil Dead remake?

Truthfully, I haven't, but this is just done without any sense of self awareness or humor, it's played 100% straight, and in the wake of a movie like 'Cabin in the Woods' is rendered almost near parody. It doesn't follow the original, except the traces of the plot, and nods/scenes from it, my friend is a die hard 'Evil Dead' fan and he was having a nerd fit after the movie. It's a bad movie in general, and a terrible horror movie, just like 'Nightmare on El Street' and 'Friday The 13th' remakes.

Not really understanding what you're saying. "Cabin In The Wood" exists because of the OG "Evil Dead". The OG "Evil Dead" started the trend of damn near every horror trope parodied in "Cabin In The Woods". I have no idea how this stands up to the OG movie, I haven't see the new one, but if your beef is "it was like Cabin In The Woods played straight" that's kinda confusing considering that movie owes it's existence to "Evil Dead", which this is a remake of.

This movie left me and at the same damn time. It stayed true to the core of the original and it did a pretty good job at keeping it that way.

IMO this was the first gory horror movie that left me crept out a little bit.

Like WHY would u read from a book that says straight up "DO NOT READ OR SAY THIS OUT LOUD! " and then you proceed to do the EXACT thing it tells u NOT to do on some shyt..

But other then that..I enjoyed this shyt..

Heard it got slapped with a NC-17 rating at first and they had to cut out 10 minutes AND change the ending ..when I was watching it I can't believe the shyt was STILL rated R like

That unrated DVD is gonna be on some shyt

me personally i like evil dead 2 waaaaay more than the 1st so hopefully this one isnt like the original at all, plus i heard its more like evil dead 4 than a straight up remake which is cool

As far as the bolded, it wasn't 10 minutes it was 10 frames of one scene. So a few seconds:

Saw it earlier today. Huge fan of the original series, andi loved this new one. This one definitely doesn't have the outright comedy elements that the originals had, but one character's lines/overall arc in the story definitely seemed tailored to both further the overall plot and provide a little subtle/black humor.

It legit might be one of the goriest movies I've ever seen, but it never really dips into constant gore torture porn like the Saw movies.

Also has TONS of callbacks to the original series. The car makes a cameo, the camera zooming through the woods is there, a couple of scenes from the original trilogy get modern versions (without making the movie a predictable remake), and there's even a subtle audio sample from the original Evil Dead thrown in.

It's worth sitting through the credits since they're fairly short (I don't think they used any CG), and give some background on the Book of the Dead near the end. And there's a short post credits scene.

Overall, I would say the movie is good enough to stand on its own within the franchise. I would say that the only thing the movie is going to seriously ask of you (other than the usual suspension of disbelief) is to accept that it's an Evil Dead without soeone literally named Ash as the main character. I'd say if you're on the fence about it, it's worth at least hitting up a matinee.

Just got back. It's pretty fukked up. Lots of blood and gore.. some crazy shyt going on in that house

Acting was better than the typical horror film. The atmosphere was on point. They did some things with dismemberment

My only issue was the Red Band trailer gave away too damn much. Still enjoyable though.
