Maybe I misunderstood it's intention
I thought I could dl it and use it without gps

I like the music app but I get too many repeats

There's not 1 positive I've gotten from Nokia drive
You can use it without service. GPS is free, its built into the device
I guess you can turn it off and on via the settings menu, but I don't cut it off so :manny:

Yes, you can get the phone from the store, not activate it, and still use the apps/whatever via Wifi
Then without wifi/internet you can take your downloaded maps or music and play them
If you keep getting GPS notifications then you need to figure out where the GPS switch is at and turn that bytch on :win:
Also download the Bing translator app, you can download language packs for off line translations, that combined with nokia drive and the ability to download the maps for offline navigation and basic mapping is a great combo for if you ever leave the country without having to spend a dime.
Yoooo I forgot all about that  I downloaded spanish and another language.. taking up all my space n shyt, totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder sliiiiiim

Gang violence...
i routinely come home from a full day of work and just go to sleep without charging my lumia 900. i rely on my phone to wake me up in the morning and it has never died on me through the night. keep in mind that part of that great battery life might depend on what you have pinned. i used to have an ESPN app that was keeping me updated with scores and news, and that thing was draining the battery and using data. now my only live tiles are three email apps, an alarm clock, calendar, phone, and text messages

Dude, ANY mapping software requires a GPS signal to function breh. You can't expect any sort of accuracy with GPS off. The main advantage of the Lumias are the OFFLINE god capability, meaning NO INTERNET connection needed. This is awesome for those with limited data or traveling internationally.

I got a Nokia Lumia 822 through my job its straight but my major complaint about it is Turning off SMS Notification toast Ability to control toast notification for SMS so that you can disable toast and flashing screen when inbound messages are received. Even when your phone is locked if you receive a text that will show up and if you phone is facing up anybody can view. From the research I've gotten people been complaining about this issue for like 2 years. Seems like MS has never addressed it.

Had an 8x. Terrible battery life. Doesn't sync well with mac. Very closed system (Bad Storage management, hidden files). Switched to iPhone the second it broke.

that is the only thing I don't like about my Windows phone...syncing wit a mac is a joke. I got to use wifey PC to sync. Other than that it does everything I need it to do and battery life is excellent. I also like the tiles way better than boring android/iOS, they seem alive. I customize damn near all my tiles.
Went to the store to cop an iphone 5, left wit a cheap windows phone and an extra $400 in my pocket :blessed:

Also, look into bing rewards/points you can search and use your bing points to buy $ for your Microsoft account. which will allow you to buy apps for the phone, and also you can use the money on xbox 360/X1 I have like $19 saved up but that took me some months, but its a good option for those without a CC or if you just want free apps
