I’m “heavy” weightlifter, obviously...and that being said I’m putting together a home gym on the 2nd floor that will have 120, 70, 50, and 25 sets of dumbbells. And resistance bands to add with the dumbbells to get increments in between those numbers and about 255 in Olympic plate dumbells, another 200 in benches with me being ~250 and lifting on the space...don’t plan on dropping shyt but as we know shyt happens
I have a spare carpeted bedroom that I’m planning to put plastic down then 3/4 plywood and then 3/4 rubber mats wall to wall.
My question is; am I adding too much weight to that area and is that enough to protect the floor? Ima try to disperse the weight out as best as I can towards the edges and wall joists, I’ve seen mfs with 1000 pound safes and shyt in their bedrooms so I think I’m good but always nice to hear from others about their experience and what they did.
