no i don't

but why can't i learn that like everybody else?

or were certain people born knowing tha difference between long and short in finance? :mindblown:

Finance guys tend to be pompous and condescending. They cloak simple concepts behind a myriad of jargon to try to sound smart. If you're serious about learning this kind of stuff then get a book.

So this was the only real thread about Forex on the Coli, aint wanna make my own.

But seriously trying to get into this now. I studied business/economics at University so I've got that side of it down, macro policies and how they affect currency/exchange rates etc now I'm more focused on the technical side of things, the graphs, resistance/support levels etc.

Been going over babypips.com which was mentioned before, seems like a good place to start. There are so many people now offering courses on IG etc seems like this industry is starting to come to the forefront especially seen as people can take a quick screenshot of their trade after it's made money and upload to IG.

Uncertain grounds
It's been getting killed. If you look at the beginning of this thread I was mentioning it trading at like 93 yen to a dollar. Now it's 118.

This is what the central bank in Japan wants. They've had 20 years of deflation and they want some inflation.

i own some AEPCX...i was thinking about dumping it in my roth ira..this yen shyt is scarin me...thoughts?

it took a big hit end of sep-early oct but has recovered so im not sure what to think

fwiw my other two mutual fund holdings are literally at all time highs (gfacx and fpacx)

there are ETFs and funds out there that will hedge against the depreciation of the yen.

From what I can tell with this fund is that it invests in Europe as well. That may be the reason it's been going down. There hasn't been much good news out of europe lately. But the fund seems diversified enough that the yen depreciation shouldn't affect it a ton.
