My camera is so tight. I was shooting from 8am to 3pm. I only stopped because I ran out of space on my memory card.
I've noticed three things:
A) there are hella camera snobs and camera geeks. Yes, their pictures are high quality, but they're fukking boring and tell no story.
lol my camera is 6 years old and people look at me like I'm powering a car with my feet.
B) There are hella lense snobs. My advice is whatever camera or lense you have nearest to you is the best camera for you. Cost doesn't indicate the quality of the picture, it really doesn't. I have no idea what I'm doing I've already gotten offers for paid photography gigs.
C) Basic knowledge of photography is all one needs to know. ISO, F Stop, and shutter speed seem to immediately impact the picture. What you see isn't always what you get or what you want. If you have a basic understanding of those three things you can take decent pictures.
D) Old photographers are the best. The folks who used film have given me the best advice, I think. They see my passion for capturing moments rather than the tech end. They'll give you advice on capturing the moment as you want rather than the equipment.
Special bonus tip: Don't shove your memory card into the memory card slot because you'll damage your camera. lol, ask me how I know. I'll be spending 115 to get it fixed.
The key is to be patient and anticipate moments happening. Also be friendly and curious. I'm into street photography, people like art, I'm not an artist but I can pretend to be if it makes a subject calm.
