Never read Gemmell, will add to "the list", and Martin doesn't make my cut until he finishes his damn series.
:russ:

Yo if you're gonna try Gemmell I recommend reading the Troy trilogy first. That's what "Troy" the movie (starring Brad Pitt) was based on really, but in the book Aquiles is not the main character.

His other series are great too but I always recommend Troy because people are usually vaguely familiar with it (through the movie experience). Even though the last book in the trilogy was completed by his wife after his sudden death. May Gemmell R.I.P. :wow:
God bless his soul and his woman's...because she still delivered a solid book.

Thanks for the rec! :salute:I really liked that movie. Right now I'm working on 'Confederacy of the Dunces'. It's starting to annoy me, so I'm excited about starting something new. You've got me pumped. I'll move the Troy trilogy to the top of the list.

Murakami can go off the deep end sometimes.
Yes but not that garbage.
Watch your mouth :birdman:
Shantaram is one of the best books ive read in a min
It's been collecting dust for YEARS on my book shelf

Typical intellectually dishonest homosexual. I expect nothing less. :manny:

My mind went there because he was cosigned by a homo Dubois and he was a culo blaster. Its not up for debate.

You pretty much love any black author whos tied to some sort of fakkitry, subconscious or not and obviously since thats white culture, and the ultimate goal is to have boys dancing like britney spears, thats a problem. A problem you support.

:mjlol:

If Wright is "tied to fakkitry," then by those standards you're a flaming West Hollywood Pride parade marcher.

Du Bois wasn't gay. Mowgli is just a repressed homosexual who projects homo everywhere because he can't make peace with himself or his past.

Brehette, you a college prof.?! :ooh:

That's that black excellence!! :banderas::salute:

Based on your CV I gotta recommend this one. It'd only be right; "Their eyes were watching God" by Zora N. Hurston.
This shyt is classic goodness, written from a woman's perspective at a time where female writers were all seem as "meh".

Edit: The real reason I'm recommending it tho' it's cause this book is one of those that transcends time as it deals with human nature rather than the happenings of it's time.
