I don't remember the exact numbers but it wasn't that simple. It was more like this.

$50(phone bill)+$30 data-$15+$27(monthly for Note 3)+$11 for the insurance=$103+taxes. My 23% discount would only apply to the $30 data charge. Which gave me about $6 off. So $97+taxes. Just wasn't worth it to me.
why bother having insurance on your phone? the deductible you have to pay plus the monthly payments negate its value. like if i had an iPhone 5s there's a $200 deductible to get the next phone plus $11 x 24 = $264 so a total of at least $464 to replace it. if i broke my iPhone 5s i could probably replace it for $40 more than that but if i never break it i'm not out of $264 the insurance cost. i've been using smartphones since 2009 and i've never carried insurance. in that span i broke one phone and was off contract with an available upgrade when it happened plus i traded the broken phone back into them for half what i paid for it and they didn't even know the usb port stopped working.

also you could eBay your broken phone and come out under what the insurance would cost. insurance only really helps if your phone is stolen or lost and the odds of either are happening are slim. i've never lost a cell phone in my life.

$65 a month for unlimited everything and you pay for your phone in 24 installments. i'm paying $70 + 10 for my plan but with a 20% off discount. seems like i could just switch to that and be close to the same in terms of a monthly bill. anybody on it like it?

I recently changed from 450 minutes to unlimited minutes. the plans cost the same, but on my old plan, I was getting 25% discount on the entire plan. now they only offer me a discount on the data portion. since my current job only allows 20% discount with sprint, I'm only getting a whopping $6 off with the discount as the data portion is only $30 :pacspit:

phone insurance is one of the biggest scams going. if I ever lose or break a phone (which has NEVER happened), I'd simply cop another one off craigslist for cheaper than it'd cost me if I were paying for insurance.

If you switch your corporate discount only applies to the data charge. That was the deal breaker for me.

they got me with that one when I switched plans in september, but, I"m stlil basically paying the same amount.

Old plan 450 minutes:
$70+$10 with 25% off the $70 portion was $52.50 + $10 for a total of $62.50 plus taxes

Current plan unlimited:
$40 (cuz I'm the 2nd line) + $30 (data) with current discount 20% off the data only means I'm paying $40+24 for a total of $64 plus taxes.

At first I was pissed, but there's no point in making a big deal out of an extra $1.50 to get unlimited everything :manny:

Yea in that case its a decent deal, but when you have to add the $25+ equipment charge in, it makes it not worth it.

yeah cause the insurance place is just gonna get you a refurbished phone anyway. if you sell your broken phone and buy another off Craigslist you can possibly get a new replacement cheaper than an insurance refurb. people sell their upgrades on Craigslist all the time. they use an upgrade and sell that new phone on there.

I always pay the 150-175 deductible and they send me a new one.
