Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
who authorized it? the estate? his moms passed away, so who runs the estate? his biological father or some investment firm?:mjcry:

getting some decent traction on reddit, which is full of skeptics

The authorized biography of the legendary artist, Tupac Shakur, a “touching, empathetic portrait” (The New York Times) of his life and powerful legacy, fully illustrated with photos, mementos, handwritten poetry, musings, and more

Artist, poet, actor, revolutionary, legend

Tupac Shakur is one of the greatest and most controversial artists of all time. More than a quarter of a century after his tragic death in 1996 at the age of just twenty-five, he continues to be one of the most misunderstood, complicated, and influential figures in modern history. Drawing on exclusive access to Tupac’s private notebooks, letters, and uncensored conversations with those who loved and knew him best, this estate-authorized biography paints the fullest and most intimate picture to date of the young man who became a legend for generations to come.

In Tupac Shakur, author and screenwriter Staci Robinson—who knew Tupac from their shared circle of high school friends in Marin City, California, and who was entrusted by his mother, Afeni Shakur, to share his story—unravels the myths and unpacks the complexities that have shadowed Tupac’s existence. Decades in the making, this book pulls back the curtain to reveal a powerful story of a life defined by politics and art—a man driven by equal parts brilliance and impulsiveness, steeped in the rich intellectual tradition of Black empowerment, and unafraid to utter raw truths about race in America.

It is a story of a mother and son bound together by a love for each other and for their people, and the relationship that endured through their darkest times. It is a political story that begins in the whirlwind of the 1960s civil rights movement and unfolds through a young artist’s awakening to rage and purpose in the ’90s era of Rodney King. It is a story of dizzying success and its devastating consequences. And, of course, it is the story of Tupac’s music, his timeless, undying message as it continues to touch and inspire us today.

I forgot about this

also want to get the Mac Dre biography that dropped but they did the writer dirty and apparently replaced him with some corny white guy who’s doing interviews sounding extra corny

I literally read and own every Tupac publication until 2010ish, there was one book that came out that I flipped through and recognized regurgitated reiterations of what’s in other bookd do it read like a school library biography to me

I could literally be the leading Tupac historian - I was 7 when I read The Killing of Tupac Shakur by Cathy Scott

there’s a guy named Bob Spitz, has the biggest 800 page Beatles biography that is one of the mainstays at the music book section in Barnes & Noble

but the real Beatles super fans know that there is another guy named Mark Lewisohn, he has released a 1200 page book that is 1 of 3 that his is releasing to cover The Beatles career

If The Beatles farted after dinner, he knows about it

I could be that guy :jbhmm:

His sister is still around and I believe the lawyer that was helping Afeni for years still helps with the estate.

I listened to the audiobook version. Kinda like the book version of the Dear Mama documentary.

As soon as Prince died the lawyers that reprsented the invested interest got involved, same week Afeni died and the original A&R that signed Tupac is overlooking the catalog and estate

the control is sizable portion of the equity

it means “Yes” you can use that song in the Nike commercial

Yes you can use that song in the Fast And Furious 37 film

^ that’s the power and the value

Snake ass Tom Whalley was the executor of the state but Set sued him last year for embezzling money, not sure what's going on now.
