You just have to recognize that a lot of these MOVIES...BIOPICS and TV SHOWS even the documentaries are into sensationalism and half truths for the sake of Ratings and profit.
As it has been stated..the story of Frank Lucas is really the story of Sgt. Ike Atkinson
But it wasn't considered marketable for HOLLYWOOD.....because of these factors
1# Sgt. Atkinson was still incarcerated when they first developed the American gangsta storyline...and many of his associates were still around ..it wouldn't have been a safe move to make
2. Atkinson activities took place mostlyoverseas in the jungle of east Asia an to its destination for tthe heroin in Ft Bragg...and he was just a lowkey military guy it wasn't as entertaining as Lucas being on the streets of Harlem
3. The story was TOO CONTREVERSIAL considering not only was Sgt. Atkinson was in too deep with the CIA connection but also had fingerprints of White House involvement and federal corruption
These shows like GANGLAND tend to avoid or gloss over the REAL SHYT and settle for the simple entertainment value of the story...
Like they did with BMF and the Shower Posse
When thier is clear cut evidence that both movements could not have evolved without political cosigns and international wheeling and dealing
