Anybody still turning the power off during thunderstorms?

Just asking because we use to turn off shyt like tvs, lights and the a/c if you had it back in the 80s..

Don't do it anymore though.. Just wondering if people still do that..

Surge protectors now, to protect TVs, computers, garage and outside plug -ins., that's for when they send 100 percent back to your home.... more understanding of power grids as well..we are all connected no matter how much power you have running..that part of your grid goes out it doesn't matter if everyone turned their power off..
