Well Actually Law School Applications are at an All Time low

Get into a good school and know what you want to practice

Where you go makes all the difference, so get a really good fukking score.

I dated 2 girls from GW Law, 1 of them graduated this year and is doing really well. She had like 10 interviews last semester at different firms.

Wrong. If you looked, applications are lower than ever. Top law schools are being forced to lower their standards for enrollment. It's easier to get into law school than ever.
.

I'm not arguing about getting into law school , I'm talking about getting a job after lawschool . Law is oversaturated, you can choose to ignore this but I think that would be foolish. You can read this anywhere and it will inform you that job growth is not matching with the amount of lawyers out there. Will some people get lucky and get jobs yes, are those jobs those big big law 165k a year jobs , nope. Read pretty much any article about law students, debt, job market and they all sing the same tune.

Spend good money on a prep course. Get the workbook and go through it. Don't test until you get your time where it needs to be.
Don't waist time on trying to learn humanities. Those questions are judging your ability to comprehend a question, not your knowledge of liberal arts.

There are plenty of jobs available for JDs however, you most likely won't make six figures straight out of school. that will make you a loser by lsa/coli standards.

I don't think he was speaking about law school as much as he was about practicing law specifically. Its easier to get into law school now, ok. That wasn't the point of the statement.

This pretty much parrots everything I've been reading. I was pretty set on going to law school, but the job market is just not fairing very well at this point. That, coupled with (from what I've read) a horrible work/life balance made it seem like it wasn't the career option I wanted to go with. So I've changed courses, hopefully I'll have success in that. I just didn't feel like the effort would be worth the hassle in trying to find employment, low compensation and being constantly in work mode.

How are things going for you in school?

I don't know if you've heard of this program or if it's too late to apply, but this was something I found while researching law school. It's an internship program. @MansaMusa this may interest you as well.

Don't be scared to retake. I studied for over 6 months when I took it and gained a significant amount of points over time. It's a bit close to the test date for you. Did you use anything to study?

Exactly, Alot of people feel like they are the chosen one or their hard work will separate them from the pack and thus go into the field knowing all these things but thinking it won't affect them. Then they graduate and realize shyt is real out here build resentment because they thought law was this Golden Field. People don't even understand the amount of crazy hours you put in, alot of it is doc approval and research not that court room cross examining TV shyt.

Can't be much better, I'm graduating in May from HLS. I have a big firm job in my hometown, did decent while I was here. There are opportunities for black aspiring attorneys, the field is in need of us.

:salute:Congrats on Harvard and getting a job so quickly! I wish you great success.

Test went okay today. Now it's just a wait and see thing. Felt confident about RC and satisfied about both LR sections. I apparently bombed the experimental logic game section and did better on the real LG section. Ultimately, I'll find out in a few weeks.
