i see theyre turned off but still wonder what they are

basically meaning how confident you're in a team winning a game.

I hate playing with them i'd rather do straight picks

for example 30 means your 100% confident team a will beat team b

confidence of 1 means the exact opposite.

like for example chiefs at pats , i would at a 30 for confidence points knowing the pats will destroy them

seattle at greenbay i'll give the packers confidence of like a 4 or 5 that's going to be a tough game.

Basically, just pick who you think is going to win each week. Except, you only get to pick 1 game each week and the team you pick to win you can't use them again.

If your pick wins, you move on to the next week. If your pick loses, you're out.
