Anyone do carpentry or do wood work either for work or fun?

Just curious. I've been thinking of learning it as a hobby. I would love to build my own furniture and when I eventually buy a house, creating a workstation to do so.

I have some experience with CAD tools back in college, and I would enjoy to maybe make something up in CAD and actually go through with building it out.

I was just sitting here at work thinking about it, I'm just curious if anyone else has this interest or knowledge to share?

Somewhere tropic...
Been around construction sites most of my life. Dad was a contractor.
I chose a different career but its a pretty useful skill to have IMO

Both, did construction and apprentice carpentry when i was younger. Now only sometimes as a hobby, recently helped a family member complete a van conversion build, turning a Ford transit van into an RV. Did everything from scratch from the flooring to the ceiling.
