anyone done the speed runs in halo 1 on halo mcc?

I can't stick this landing on assault on the control room. seems no matter where I land you move too fast and slide off the cliff. Did they patch it or am I just not doing it right?

Anyone have any trouble getting the achievements to pop for the skulls in halo 3 for mcc when you get them? I got the skull in the first level on normal twice and still nothing.
