Anyone else been successful without networking????

First off success is all relative.

I have noticed after college I have been rather successful in landing well paying jobs without much, if any networking. I've noticed other family members and friends who had to rely on their connections for getting a good job or position. I have always beat myself for not making an effort to network with people but honestly I dont see its personal value.

I feel That if your actually good at whatever it is you have chosen to do then you should have no problem finding opportunities but Networking would make it easier.

Be however you wanna be as long as you put in work

depends on what you do. If you have a skill such as coding (back ends of sites) you really don't have to network. It's such an in demand skill but you can work remotely and without a team. if you have reasonable to great prices those referrals will roll right in.

Also running an ecommerce site doesnt require networking...

Which field are you in? Since networking wasn't the reason, what was it that helped you land those well paid positions?

I currently as an applications developer . I honestly dont know what helped given I have very limited technical experience. However, I have always been very good in interviews and leaving lasting impressions. I think thay may have something to do with it.

But, I would've been VASTLY more successful if I had networked more.

I've been relatively successful but I've also worked 80-90 hour weeks at some points. If I had better social/networking skills, everything would come a lot easier for me.

Interviewing for a job is a form of networking.

Networks and networking is probably the single most important thing in society. Nothing really gets done without it

I have BA. currently making 65k which is good considering my level of expertise.

network security and administration. something completely irrelevant to the work i do now.
