I been feeling like this for a while. How can this be a war? It's like some thugs from a block in Harlem going to war with the Marines, Army and Navy. With nothing but a few hand guns.

I understand symbolism. I understand frustration. But Israel has a military. Highly intelligent. With tanks, planes, bombs and heavy weaponry. The palestinians have rocks dude.

These Palestinians were blowing themselves up because that was really their only weapon years ago. Now they have rockets they launch but doesn't hit any target.

Reading this article disgusted me.

They really scared of this "war" huh.

I feel like Israeli military has embedded themselves and are launching non-lethal rockets at their own country to keep the justification up to bomb all these innocent people.

No way all this destruction makes sense. It's about cleansing and taking more and more land. All it boils down to.

Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorist but none of this "war" makes sense. 70% of the people getting bombed are supposedly innocent. How do they have those stats?

Yeah, for sure. Same goes for Fatah and Islamic Jihad. Everyone in Palestine is good people, families, ya know.

Never said or meant to imply that. I'm just saying that living in the USA we have no clue about anything going on over there. Not really. Only know what we've been told and that is biased and in bits and tiny pieces.

I also see how much land has been taken over the last 50 yrs from the Palestinians. There is a scale showing you the original land to the tiny strip they have now. Has Israel been illegally colonizing? Yes. What better way than to make up an enemy and have them send out non lethal attacks?

Just a theory because it doesn't make sense. Would you bomb a city block in Los Angeles to kill a few Bloods or Crips? Serious Question cuz I don't understand. This is not a War.

I'd say that's categorically false. You seem to enjoy consuming and promoting propaganda though.

Why don't you read more books and less blogs.

You say it's false but I just got back from Asia and Europe. :mjlol:

The only thing I can tell you is it's embarrassing how little we are exposed to here. But American arrogance like you're displaying will have you thinking you know everything and everything is fed to you without you leaving your neighborhood. All you can say is "It's false" with no facts.

What propaganda am I promoting. I asked a question. Everything you consume is real propaganda and you embrace it freely. "Read a book" Yeah no propaganda in any books either eh?

You're the only American who has been to Asia and Europe. You aren't arrogant. You consume your media different than other Americans.

"
After the Palestinian uprising of 1987, the PLO accused Hamas and Yassin of acting “with the direct support of reactionary Arab regimes… in collusion with the Israeli occupation.”
Yasser Arafat complained to an Italian newspaper: “Hamas is a creation of Israel, which at the time of Prime Minister Shamir, gave them money and more than 700 institutions, among them schools, universities and mosques.” Arafat also maintained that Israeli prime minister Rabin admitted to him in the presence of Hosni Mubarak that Israel had supported Hamas.'

I would find it absurd to think Mossad doesnt have agents inside of Hamas....

"Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation," says Mr. Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades. Responsible for religious affairs in the region until 1994, Mr. Cohen watched the Islamist movement take shape, muscle aside secular Palestinian rivals and then morph into what is today Hamas, a militant group that is sworn to Israel's destruction.

Instead of trying to curb Gaza's Islamists from the outset, says Mr. Cohen, Israel for years tolerated and, in some cases, encouraged them as a counterweight to the secular nationalists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and its dominant faction, Yasser Arafat's Fatah. Israel cooperated with a crippled, half-blind cleric named Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, even as he was laying the foundations for what would become Hamas.

Understanding The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

760.jpg

Tensions have quickly escalated in Gaza following the recent collapse of peace talks and the subsequent kidnappings and murders of Israeli and Palestinian teens, with Israeli citizens now threatened by daily rocket fire from Hamas while Gaza residents endure the Israeli military’s devastating airstrikes. Here is a primer to help you understand the latest conflict in the region:

  1. Palestinian neighborhood/future Israeli neighborhood
  2. Beautiful mural of three guys who blew up a bus
  3. Vast archives of past ceasefire agreements
  4. Hamas rocket platform and elementary school
  5. Territorially ambiguous pile of rubble
  6. Defensive layer of air put in place to protect Palestine
  7. Location where 65 consecutive years of violence recently broke out
  8. Angry, unemployed youth getting martyrdom pitch
  9. Tiny new settlements budding in rich West Bank soil
  10. Nonrefundable tour group just plowing ahead with this trip
  11. Best place to shout “Why?” into the smoke-filled sky
  12. Starcrossed Israeli-Palestinian lovers stealing a fleeting, tender kiss in the night
  13. 2296 Armistice lines

I think Hamas was an unforeseen result. The west was arrogant and Israel was as well. And I do think there is some truth in Israel allowing Hamas to proliferate and sew the seeds of discord.

This is a conflict that could have long been solved but Hamas is too stubborn and Israel spends way too much money on "defense" to not have a culture of conflict. The initial spark may have been on the west, but I think its asinine to assume that Palestine has done its best to come to a common ground. The middle east should be tired of fighting their fathers and grandfathers wars.

Listen, Israel doesn't intercept 800 rockets. It lies that 800 rockets were fired. If rockets ARE fired, it's most likely Israeli intelligence doing the firing. This is how they expand, and it's known. It's a very sad situation.
