so I got laid off at the end of sept. maybe it's the holiday slow down, maybe it's covid caused, but hr depts / companies seem to be taking their mfng time making hiring decisions. I have yet to hear back about a job I interviewed for over a month ago. are companies just not sending out rejection emails anymore? should I expect to hear something back after the first of the year?

i got laid off in feb and gave up on finding full time work. I never thought looking for a job would be a waste of time until now. All ive gotten in 2023 is rejections, gaslighting, ghosting, and multiple rounds of interviews only to end in rejection or the position has been filled. Ive been contracting and freelancing for months now and its really starting to pick up.

idk what your field is but try going your own way. White collar jobs are screwed right now

man. shyt is spooky. and I work in a field that's typically a bit more resilient to general economic downturn. trying not to take a job that pays significantly less than my last position but if something doesn't shake soon...:sadcam:

really hoping there's something like a hiring freeze that's preventing these companies from extending job offers before q1 2024. imma give the hr depts 6 weeks, then inquire

For every white collar job that's not calling back its like ten blue collar jobs that are in desperate need of people.

I was like that when I first moved to Atlanta but got an in. Isn’t exactly what I want but it’ll do until next summer.
shyt makes no sense lol. at a couple of prospective employers, I was referred by a current employee. like damn, do I have to know someone in HR or have a parent that's a C Suite executive?

i wouldnt even waste time or energy wondering about that job. just keep applying elsewhere. It's like dating. If they want you fr they will make it obvious.
