WTF does it matter? It's like asking why there weren't any black characters in Braveheart. The setting is set in Westeros which you can obviously see is the Europe of that world. Essos is the Middle Eastern/African continent. Im sure as the story evolves and they introduce more of that continent you will start to see more people of color.It's already starting.
