Or just awful. The reactions you're speaking about aren't tied to his work. And if they were, maybe he'd draw and his push would be consistent.

Miz not performing as a heel isnt his fault, pretty much no one does anymore. Cant remember the last time I seen a low blow
I admittedly HATE the Miz and it takes a LOT for me to not like a wrestler at all, but I respect that he made it and to a small degree, I respect that he can get heat since it's rare to find a wrestling heel that'll actually get booed. Him achieving his dream is probably one of the ONLY redeeming qualities about him and that had me 50/50 on him when watching the Real World. However, seeing that season also reminds me that he's a total mark when it comes to life...
So, he's rubbed me the wrong way ever since that. Also, any time I see him doing wrestling-related things outside of the ring, he just really seems like a lame, corny mark with horrible comedic timing. Like...that friend who comes to watch sports, but only vaguely knows shyt on a surface-level but always feels the need to make awkward, cringe-worthy matter-of-fact statements. Just everything is just awkward.

He just doesn't seem genuine. He's like the male version of a diva or Michael Cole in trunks.
His GEAR is dope (to me) and the flow of his matches is solid. His moveset isn't even awful and when he's heeling it up on the mic, it's believable.
It's funny because while writing this, I'm watching an interview w/ him and Dolph and I kind of wish that he and Dolph could fuse. They'd be the perfect heel b/c they both have what the other lacks.

He's not a draw which is why he's no longer in the main event. No point in pushing him because he doesn't need to be any higher on the card than where he currently is.
And in case you hadn't noticed he was just recently the IC champion heading into the 2nd biggest show of the year. Pretty sure the WWE sees at least some value in him even if you don't.

Exactly. And they're tried to push him, primarily as a heel, to that next level on several occasions, only to watch it flop. So, yeah, I disagree with the assessment that he's a "great" anything.
If Miz's value is "hey, carry a belt we haven't cared about in years into a pay per view to lose to a guy that we're not sure if we want to push," then I feel like my point is proven. And it was likely a Plan B for Barrett's unexpected injury.
They clearly enjoy that Access Hollywood ass "Former reality star turned champion" pub they get. That's fine. They also enjoy begging for Network subscriptions.
