Alot of that went down in NY at the genesis of the gang wave that took over the city in the early 2000s.

So many kids where claiming blood and crips and making up their set. Used to name they shyt after Rap Crews.

D-Block, Dipset, Street Fam etc.
But don't forget the era immediately after that.

Blood and crip nikkas who felt they were "legit" were going around beating the shyt out of "false claimers". I saw so many nikkas, who should've been at home watching Naruto, get knocked out right in front of me.

You mean the crates? bytches LOVED when I wore that shyt.

I didn't take any chances though. I wore that shyt only in places where I KNEW no one would check me. :mjlol:

My friends and I formed a gang in 6th grade. We were the Westsiders and our rivals were the Westside Gs

shyt lasted two weeks because we got snitched on and one of my friends got suspended from school

Nah we didn’t bang in the city like that growing up. But I remember this one kid from LA moved to our school and tried to bring that crip walkin and colors here and the whole school called him a lame. He lasted like two weeks and then I never saw him again :russ:
I got older barbers and shyt from my neighborhood that went to high school in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. They would have hella stories of a nikka moving here from out “LA” claiming he was a blood and trying to bring that shyt over and getting get his ass whooped out the school. One of the things I admired about the DMV is we had our own culture of shyt and never let outside shyt influence us.

That was back then though. Now I see a lot of these new younger dudes talking slime and banging all types of shyt smh. I even seen either Fruit Town Brim or Fruit town piru blasted on a stop sign in a decently white suburb of pg (old greenbelt). The disappointment that ran over my body :snoop:
