It’s hilarious ppl think taking lessons will automatically make you adequate at something.

I’ve taken multiple swimming lessons, from when I was a kid, to an adult, and I am still a below average swimmer

My sons are 4 and 2 and I try to get them in the pool and they fail miserably.

Taking lessons ain’t gonna solve everything if it ain’t meant to be

No one is acting like everyone needs to become a champion open water swimmer. But I bet if your ass got thrown in a 20ft pool you know enough to get you back over to the edge. People who don’t know how to swim at all are making even a rescue of them harder.

If you can ride a bike, you can swim.

Fear of the water is understandable, but the more accustomed you get with being in water, the less fear you'll have.​

Yeah the survivors were in lifeboats that could have had more people in them and were waiting to be rescued.

While mainly men were holding onto debris crying out and then dying of hypothermia after 15-25 min in that frigid water

More lives could have been saved but people on the lifeboats didn’t want to go back for anyone else

Two, they did try, but most ppl were dead within 15 minutes as the water was 28 degrees plus when they did get a handful of ppl, they were just not in good shape

I didn't realize cool water could be that deadly in that short team

They rescued this one guy only because he was balancing himself on some furniture and even that one person took 30 minutes to get to because of all the debris

I saw a video explaining what happened to those people on the sub, luckily for them they didn’t feel a thing when it imploded. It happened so fast the brain has no time to process the pain. He described it as a hydraulic press crushing a tube of toothpaste, whatever was left became food for the fishes.
