Low key, not trying to be funny or dismissive, the movie Titanic probably did more harm to the world than the actual Titanic disaster.

Hundreds of millions of people watched that movie and were indoctrinated with the simp ideas about romance that it espouses.

I'm not bashing the movie. I haven't seen it in years and I still consider it one of my favorite movies of all time. But thinking back on how it basically teaches the message that men should sacrifice their lives to let women live no questions asked, it is really disgusting and disturbing that an idea so vile could've been so casually presented and absorbed by so many with very little backlash.

I can hardly think of anything in entertainment history that could have contributed more as a single work to the spread of narcissistic thinking among the female population. Maybe Beyoncé's body of work as a whole or Madonna's Material Girl.

If that sh*t happened today, best believe we're drawing straws before I let you get on that lifeboat. Matter of fact, I might propose we both stay on the ship and we only rescue the children to see if you really about that equality life or you only preach it when it's convenient to you.
Theres literally centuries of romantic literature that have influenced how we talk about love. Romeo and Juliet, Helen of Troy, Sappho of Lesbos...:gucci:

Definitely fell down the rabbit hole, watched the movie on Prime yesterday. Haven’t jumped into the documentaries yet.

As far as swimming, I learned as a kid at the Ymca, everyone should learn or know how as an adult.

In the documentary on Disney Plus, James Cameron did a demonstration of how they had to cut the lifeboats during this final minutes when the ship was going down. It took about 1:40 per rope with a pocket knife. He said those boats started crashing on top of each other in the rush, and had there been more boats, they probably wouldn’t have made difference, because they would have kept crashing.

Man fukk that boat :camby: I went down a rabbit hole with James Cameron. Here's a question tho: Why isn't the boat crushed from all the pressure?
The water pressure outside same as inside there is not vacuum acting on the ship like a sub the water fills it as it sinks.

Majority of the stuff people are saying in here now about water pressure is not true. You will drown before you are crushed unless you sink very low very fast.

All the crushing physics talk related to the sub should account for outside and inside pressure being different in a closed environment vs a ship.

Just finished the movie. Crazy how bad the men for the short end of the stick. If I’m on that ship, I’m letting my family and kids and other kids get priority, the rest of the women better fall back and get in line. fukk dying for no reason especially knowing the life boats weren’t filled to capacity.:camby:

On another note Rose’s fiance was on one the entire film.:russ: This dude snatched up a random crying kid so he could get a spot on a boat.:laff: Dude was so mad he started busting shots at Jack in the middle of a crowd while the ship was sinking. :mjlol:
