Rap isn't only the same 10-15 rappers you see the most, I find myself listening to more underground and old stuff. I agree that the mainstream in general is lacking nowadays, IMO it's what I call microwave music.

I like hip hop too much to throw it in the bushes, I'm just not fukking with the mainstream in general.

:dead: @ "Pun did it better".
Pun and Kendrick wrote their albums
with entirely different goals.

"Good Kid Maad City" and "Section 80" are very
different albums from "Capital Punishment".

One of the main issues is the fact that you nikkas think "HIP HOP" is limited to rap music. The majority of people that I know that listen to rap don't really participate, not only in rap, writing/producing, promoting ect. but they completely ignore the other elements, there is an imbalance between the mouth and the rest of the body of Hip Hop in total.

The difference between 1st gen on down is that people increasingly became more passive in their experience with the culture. You have people thinking they can sit back with an ipod and "listen" to hip hop when it's truly something you live. At it's root you couldn't sit up in your apartment and watch nikkas break dance talmbout you're hip hop, you at least had to come down and mingle with the crowd to not only see but FEEL what was being expressed.

People don't live it anymore...they sit back waiting to be entertained, and when they aren't entertained by what they allow people to give them, rather than look elsewhere, or change their approach to how they experience the culture they point the fingers at the entertainers instead of seeing shyt for what it is really is. You're bored because you're boring...hip hop is predictable because you're predictable.

If you are hearing the same songs why don't you go find different artists then?

Complaining about listening to the same stories/same song then running back to a song which youve heard the same story/same song a million times is doing what exactly?

 nikka that's your problem right there, if you searched for new artists yourself instead of going off of other people's cosigns you would've found something fresh by now

And nikkas get stabbed everyday b. What does any of that have to do with you being a dullard?

I'm seriously gettin tired of this whole genre. Mainstream hip hop is unbearable to listen to, I usually only check for local artists now when it comes to rap, at least some of them try to have their own style.

Only way to go, listen to unsigned artists. A lot of rappers know they dumb it down with songs about money, pussi, and crack. How many songs can you make about fun? This the formula, no depth.
