We never had the internet when I was growing up and when I moved out on my own I had two roomates. One of the roomates had WebTV and we all had our personal accounts on there. Whenever you would turn it on it would list all accounts on the console and show how many unread messages each person had. They used to turn that bad boy on and it would like something like this
Young We Ready - 97 new messages
Generic Roomate #1 - 2 new messages
Generic Roomate #2 - 4 new messages
They would always be like
@ the amount of their messages compared to mine and they both just assumed it's because I was white 
It wasn't until atleast a year down the road that they figured out I was passing pictures of my tallywhacker around in the chatroom I frequented and that's why I had so much activity on my account.
Needless to say....they followed my lead and soon started to see their accounts do Batman numbers as well.
WebTV was the the best thing going for those who didn't have a computer.
Come to think of it, we all 3 worked at General Motors so I don't know why we didn't have computers of our own. I said they were black and I'm white, one of us still works at GM and 2 do not....can you guess which is which?
