the shyt that annoys me is when watching like sportscenter or some nbc sports show, they'll be some breaking news about an injury/suspension, and they'll cut to some balding 45 year old cac "what this means for your fantasy team!!!"

I love fantasy sports but honestly it's only fun if you play with close friends for money in a high competitive league.......

I've played in leagues where it just dies off, there's no shyt talking, no trades, no active participation, no money...

Our fantasy football league's dues are $200, we all get together for the draft, it's really fun.

I haven't played fantasy basketball since high school because my current friends (whom I graduated school with) aren't into baketball as much. They're former D1 football players. Fantasy basketball was fun tho.....It basically went by the week.

play with friends and put money on it.

have a good time talking shyt every weekend.

watch games you normally might not watch.

learn to love/hate players you never heard of before.

i'll admit it sounds nerdy when you're trying to explain exactly what the game is to people who don't know. but it's not like you sit in front of your tv with pen and paper calculating scores.

if you're gonna give it a shot.. do it right though. don't play online with randoms for no money. play with people you know and put some money on it.

This.

Never got real heavy into the NFL until I started playing fantasy. You have to analyze team defenses, O-lines, depth charts etc. to draft and monitor a reasonable team. If that's nerdy I don't really care :yeshrug:

Like most people said it's the best if you play with a few good friends. People will lose their sleep and their pride over this shyt :takedat:

Killing fantasy hockey and football with bball right around the corner :win:

Fantasy is awesome. I already loved basketball and football before I started playing, but fantasy adds that extra layer of competition. Now not only is your real life team competing, but you are too with your own virtual team. The strategy that goes into analyzing who to bench, who to start, who to drop, who to pick up in free agency, who to draft, and who to trade is extremely fun for the thinking kind of guy who likes to strategize.

The best part is it makes me pay attention to games I normally would never care about. Watching the suns vs the cavs and hoping Goran Dragic gets you that one last assist you need to beat your opponent for the week, or tuning into the Seahawks vs the Jags to watch that Seattle defnese you drafted net you mad points with all those sacks, interceptions and low scoring :ohlawd:

My first time competing was last year in a 10 dollar basketball league. I got to the grand finals, and on the final night of the season, all I needed was Chris Paul to make 2 more free throws for me to win it all. This a$$hole got to the line with 30 seconds left, made the first one and missed the second :why: hated the Clippers for the rest of the year. Was so happy when Memphis whooped their ass.

This time I'm in a 20 dollar b-ball league and 2 football leagues. I want to win at least one of those, if not all 3. One of my squads has Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte and Alfred Morris as a triple back threat with Matthew Stafford at QB and Marques Coltson and Torey Smith for my wideouts :ohlawd:. I like my chances in that one.

Yeah, fukk that shyt breh. Watching the game is more than enough for me, if I want fantasy I'll play Madden or some shyt. Unless it's a league betting money, its completely pointless. If you needed fake lineups and rosters to get you watching football more maybe you ain't fukk with it like that to begin with. :ld:

It's hard to care when you play against random cats you don't know or don't have money on it...

...and football is hard to REALLY care about because there's so little you can do after draft day. And because of the head-to-head format, random chance plays a much bigger role.

Baseball on the other hand....:whew:. If you win a fantasy baseball league, you EARNED that shyt.

I mean, I'm watching 4-5 games a night anyway, might as well make shyt a little more interesting :yeshrug:

*balances THREE 2013 fantasy baseball crowns on top of head*

....or have $$$$ on it ;)

I spend infinitely more time on the $$/keeper league team than I do the points league.

I just coasted this year after acquiring Mike Trout (for essentially JUST Greinke :dead:) and drafting the GOAT pitching rotation :russ:

Ehh not every league is for money. Im sure a decent amount just do it for the fun. Only reason Id play for money is so I have an incentive to actually keep up with my team
who the fukk would waste time in a fantasy league for no money?
